Although primarily a designer, I've also stepped out of that box many times... first and foremost I am a problem solver. I like a good puzzle.

I've done loads of client contact work, managed an art studio of seven, and have planned many marketing campaigns. And I have also ventured into the programming realm when a task necessitated it (like interacting with a database on the web). Below are some descriptions of projects that don't fall into the traditional categories.


Custom MeerConnect Browser.
1997 - 1998
In a campaign to get dental practices to go online and order from the website, Meer Dental provided accounts and software for reduced rates. I created a custom browser using the IEAK SDK. The configuration, the hot buttons, home page, etc. were all automatically included with initial install. I created and produced the custom animated logo as well as all of the packaging and advertising as well.


Data Flow from comma-delimited text files into formatted Quark Pages using X-Data
1997-1998
Meer Dental company produced an 80 page, 4-color catalog two times a year. I wrote the code (in XData language) that allowed the text files from the database to be flowed into the Quark Express templates I created, saving massive amounts of time.

Bulk Email List administration and maintenance
Ongoing
While webmaster at Meer Dental I created and administered a bulk email campaign for our web customers. At present I am maintaining and administering an ongoing bulk email news dispatch/advertising campaign. I'm currently switching back and forth between using some of the features in Microsoft Outlook (for html based email) to NetMailer (which allows me to "boilerplate" each message. I maintain and update the email addresses in a few Access 2000 databases.

JavaScript, VB scripting/ASP, Java, Lingo, Perl.
While I do not call my self a full fledged programmer, I have access to both sides of my brain. I've written code in all of these languages, and I'm pretty good at hacking out solutions when I need to.
